How could we forget 1964 Pontiac GTO 389 cid engine came with 325bhp with a single 4bbl carb or 348bhp with the optional Tri-Power setup, 3 2bbl carbs. The car that was marketed under a Tiger motif but soon became known as the "Goat" would stand the automobile industry on end and lead to a host of imitators. But no one in the mid-sixties would get it together quite like Pontiac. Engines: 389 V8 325 bhp @ 4800 rpm, 428 lb-ft @ 3200 rpm. 389 V8 (3x2) 348 bhp @ 4900 rpm, 428 lb-ft @ 3200 rpm. Performance: 389/325: 0-60 in 7.5 sec, 1/4 mile in 15.7 sec @ 92 mph. 389/348: 0-60 in 6.6 sec, 1/4 mile in 14.8 sec @ 95 mph

Damn i could go on and on....67 Sting Ray w/L88 427 The top engine option was the L88, of which only 20 were installed in Corvettes in 1967. Although it was rated at 430hp, it put out considerably more power, estimated at over 500hp. Chevrolet rated the L88 at 5hp less to discourage the casual prospect from ordering this powerhouse.

When the salesman called and told me my new burgandy 1973 Caprice Classic was at the dealer,I had to tell him that I was sick and it would be a couple of days until it could be picked up.The Volvo was still in the bodyshop.Wreck it right after I purchased the chevy. The Volvo was a trade in.Picked it up from the bodyshop and drove straight to the Chevy dealer,it had red overspray on the tires and still smelled of fresh paint.

Then the divorce. This was one of my favorite cars.I could haul a dozen Weber Grills, some with hot coals, on a good summer Sunday evening. Hell I just got divorced. I called her , Rita the Rambler and we rambled .Rita was Flamingo Pink in color, that was popular in the late 50's and early 60's.

LOL! My Dad (who was 6'2" and 220 lbs) bought a VW bug in 1958. It was the first car I actually drove. Watching him getting in and out looked like he needed a shoe horn. I liked the car, but he eventually called it "Hitler's Revenge".
