I don't know if I agree with him on this but I think his latest comments stemmed from this pevious comment. If you really look at what he's saying, it's not that Conservative presidents are better. I think he's saying that the more they push against art, the more motivation there is to push back. Conservatives do a lot of pushing. He may not have expressed it in the best of ways but I think I know what he meant. "I think music and all art really flourishes and becomes much more exciting under a conservative president because there's a need to react against limitations." People have to understand that he's always very sarcastic and he doesn't seem to take either party seriously. There was a period when Lieberman and other Dems were working hard to ban his music. Manson regrets pro-Bush commentsRocker Marilyn Manson feels partly responsible for George W Bush winning the US presidential election in 2000.
In an interview with US talk show host Tucker Carlson at the time, the controversial rocker sarcastically condemned Democrat candidate Al Gore and told his fans to vote Bush.
Manson says: "He won by such a small amount, and particularly because it was in Florida.
"Who's to say there weren't a couple of our fans who took my sarcasm seriously and voted for him?"
Again, note that he was being sarcastic.... ..............................
