For the last couple of years, I've made a habit of making a dark ambient track each Winter in a series called Cold Earth, which largely deals with my annual depression at this time of the year. Despite GLOBAL WARMING making a cold Winter more of a thing of the past, I've made my 3rd production in the series this afternoon, and if anyone here enjoys dark ambience, you can find the track HERE. Happy Holidays, Gastro and members, Arcadia

Chilling!!!!!!! The best I've heard so far. Of course we will have to go to Siberia or Point Barrow Alaska to see the winters we used to. This is very reminiscent of Klaus Schulze "Irrlicht" or Michael Hoenig "Departure from the Northern Wasteland " Damn............. Noble Gas and Arcadia have to collaborate on a piece........See if you can pick up a copy of ProTools for PC with the M-Box Pro or we just send tracks back and forth on CD with a click start for each track. We can talk about it Oh, here is a quote.....You say Cold Earth reflects a depressed state of mind......Thetaloops and I think it is a Mysterious piece, not depressing. The most beautiful thing we can experience is the mysterious. It is the source of all true art and science..... Albert Einstein

As a fellow Artist, swamp, you know very well that all art is slaved to the interpretation of the viewer/listener. That the reflection of the audience often lends more insight into their own minds than that of the Artists themselves speaks volumes and has never failed to amaze me in it's diversity.
Clearly, Theta's psychic abode is a place of serenity and comfort I'm yet to realize myself. This makes glances into an Abyss like mine much less formidable and appear to be something entirely different from the mental image I subconsiously strove to generate in producing this track. For me, tracks like this have long been the only true form of purgative psychotherapy I've been able to afford as the useless eater I am, and I've reached a point where I believe they extend themselves beyond the services of expensive headshrinkers anyways, so, through serendipity, I've aquired an auto-healing functionality that is independant of traditionally abusive forms of coping like Self-medicating, Violence, and other forms of release (including my old friend, Suicide) that clot our society and help keep it collectively ill..
This process of mine is not unlike a sloughing of a skin, leaving a cleaner more refined version of myself and it usually results in a point of calm and clarity that persists for some time afterwards.
That others are able to enjoy what is in reality cast-off darkness straight from my inner core is a secondary benefit that I've been pleased and humbled to experience in my listening audience. I recently shared a remix of an extremely personal track regarding a wonderful woman in my life before I met the one I was to marry who tragically committed suicide in 2003 with her next partner. That track has gained a great deal of attention since and has been frequently employed as a form of Death Therapy for individuals that have contacted me online to express their gratitude to me.
Quite the honor, that.
Thanks for listening, swamp. I guess you were the only ones that bothered here, but that's ok.
Cheers, Donovan
ps: Regading a collaboration, I'd be delighted to persue one with you guys. I have many online collaborations under my belt already and they're alot of fun. I need not use Pro Tools to work with you; all we need to do is transfer rendered channels as.wav/aiff files via a webserver. I'd offer my own for this purpose, but my webhost has of last week ended his company for health reasons, so I no longer even have a page to host my existing tracks for now.
That should be remedied in the coming weeks, though, so I'll let you know.
A Noble Gas/Sickle collab...

Thanks Arcadia.
I listened to the track and like it. I think art is only art when it touches on the human condition, on reality. Something is also art when it is able to transcend the author, when the line between viewer and author becomes indistinguishable.
I know when I am depressed, I do not want to hear I'm Walking on Sunshine. I want to hear some Rage Against the Machine, Pink Floyd, Tool, or The Smiths.

By chance, I noticed the rigorous intuition thread where Wells got busted with having a forum name called KM Artlu. That is creepy. He could definitely be some type of gatekeeper lackey, some kind of strawman.
He kind of makes no sense on the cd versus pancake thing. I think he is entertainment only, like Flocco, Madsen, Rense.
You remind me of Vincent Gambini. Sorry the guy let you down.

Hi Arcadia, I just want to say I don't know either way what is up with Mr. Wells. I hope I didn't upset you, and I apologize if I did, and I wish you luck in figuring out what is going on at that forum, if that is something you are trying to do. If anyone can, it will be you.
Just try to be good to yourself, and again, best wishes for your family.
