Thanks Swamp , I love Christine Mcvie, that is truly a compliment. When I got sick with Graves disease,it really should not have affected my voice but for some reason I started having trouble singing past a 2nd set at a gig,and felt so horrible when the night was through that I finally decided it was time to give up playing on a weekly basis. I sure miss it,but not the mundane requests,I sang Old Time R&R,so long that I would cringe when someone requested it. We were obviously a cover band, and played for the bills to get paid. Joe and I both write though, and would like to perhaps make a CD of our tunes. We are in the process right now of trying to build a home studio. Our son is a good drummer and wants to have an area to work on his own music also. I really want him to have these things we didn't have and needed at our disposal. Thanks for the input, as it is a bit scarey putting yourself out there for others to hear.(Nothing like playing for barroom crowd) It is definately soul bareing. I was hoping to put a copy of a John Prine cover we did,"Angel from Montgomery"I really love singing this song and it is one that we did a good version of our own. Well, thanks for the kind words and cheers, chicky

Yes,over the 20 odd yrs. of playing I have heard a lot of different opikions it is funny how differently we all hear music and voices but I guess that is what gives music such individual and at the same time universallly loved pastime. I have heard from Stevie Nicks to Chrissie Hynde to Tracey Chapman and I can remember as a kid I wanted to grow up and sing like Jack Bruce. the funny part is I remember being serious as a kid and that is kind of how music is,you find what your ear likes and don't think about what others may think, even if it is an odd dream. I am sure that there going to be those that really think we stink and that is o.k too,but it is hard to bare yourself but fun at the same time. chicky chicky

Hey Chicky, Verrry smooth and worth the wait. I can hear a little Janice Joplin and Grace Slick in there, as well. Excellante'! You should definitely keep on singing, you have a great voice!! The whole sound of the 'Smokin' Joe's Blues Band' works so well together, a clean machine! ;D Thanks so much for sharing. TL

Thanks,I do think my husband is a great guitar player he is self taught years ago now ,after playing drums in our first band, and because we began sequencing music with the Atari (and the good old DX7)system he wanted to play the guitar live even though all the back up was computerized, and since he was a drummer to begin with that certainly didn't hurt anything. If you don't have a steady meter you don't have much else. Anyways,it is fun to share it kind of is a way of knowing who people are even though we all only get to discuss things on here.brings a personality to the conversation. thanks again chicky
