It is the extremes of weather that is disturbing. Overall, the average mean is up, but the planet is becoming less temperate.

Did anyone see that Discovery Channel special last Sunday night on Weather Modification? One guy from MIT mentioned how he thinks Chaos theory plays a part with weather patterns and how a change in one country could affect the weather in another. So, I don't find it hard to believe that we are seeing extremes in different countries as it's almost like a domino effect (I guess they prefer butterfly effect though). Any way, pretty interesting program. If anyone watched it, taped it, etc., we should start up a new thread to discuss it.

I haven’t seen the program that you’re talking about but I am familiar with the chaos theory and love the movie Butterfly Effect. If you tend to believe that the earth is a living, sentient being as I do then it wouldn’t be much of a stretch to assume that the left hand is always effected by what the right one does to use a human analogy. Even if they're many miles apart. Weather patterns are no different.
