Apple claims they should not. Its lawyers say in court documents that Web scribes are not "legitimate members of the press" when they reveal details about forthcoming products that the company would prefer to keep confidential.

I agree with Apple when it comes to leaking confidential product information, but I do not when it comes to labeling ALL online journalists as non-legitimate. Opinions are one thing, and going against company policy is another.

Yeah me too, sometimes I think these large companies use issues like this in order to officially discredit alternative Internet sources. The government’s already moving swiftly to regulate the web like they do in China. We all know that the net is our last bastion of truth.
Microsoft is now looking to get "spyware removal software" on people's computers just so they can raid your hard drive in search of bootlegged programs. There are concerns that once they get it on your computer they could also find out if you were using online gambling services and potentially even report you to the authorities. You can’t even breathe these days without being assaulted by the scrutinizing eyes of big business/government/big brother. The unholy alliance of oppression.

We might even switch to Linux. Theoretically, that's a good idea, but there simply is not the apps that I work with on a Professional level, nor is there the support. There are a few garden variety Sound Tools and Video/Graphics, but there is not the support that a Final Cut Pro, After Effects, or ProTools on Linux. Linux is OK as a server though Apple is the best compromise. Microsoft is just a crappy OS and company, and Linux is too much of an Anarchy. The one good thing is that Apple still listens to people. If we write in and complain to them about this "Journalist" lawsuit, they will get the message, much like they did with the iPod battery disposal issue. |

Intel blasted and mocked Windows and Dell recently, Intel is cutting 30,000 jobs, Dell is sinking fast, Dell is going after AMD as processor, IBM has massive 8-core 7-ghz chip roaring up, Gates wants surveillance everywhere, Jobs does not, and Larry Ellison wants surveillance everywhere. When the smoke clears, whoever survives will be an indication of where society is heading. I think the Apple brew-ha-ha is about blogs releasing sensitive Apple information, and frankly I do not like people doing that either. It's one thing to let people know if you are being mistreated, but it's another thing letting out company secrets. They know damn well that blogs are a freedom of expression, especially when it comes to politics. |
