Minority Report was originally a book by Phillip K. Dick...made into a movie by Spielberg. I don't care for Tom (giant ego) Cruise all that much but The Minority Report is one of the most interresting movies ive seen in a while. Definately shows a world we may be heading for since we are so interresting in spying on our own citizens. Cameras on every corner etc. Each one of us a suspected criminal. Exept for our leaders of course.

We already see some of the advertising gimmicks in Minority Report, where it scans you, and your favorite foods and such pop up on a screen.
I read an article where recivers pick up what stations cars radios are tuned into, and if the majority are Country stations, advertisements for pickup trucks, and Barbecue sauce pops up on screens along the highway. I wonder what it would do if the majority were listening to Rush Limbaugh? Advertisements for Prozac and Pain Killers?

Well thanks for that review. I was planning on watching Minority Report or My Big Fat Greek Wedding tonight and was undecided which to watch. You just helped me make up my mind! I'll even follow up with my comments.

Woo Hoo! What a movie! I highly recommend it to anyone that likes futuristic mind-opening movies. This movie is NOT like any I’ve ever seen before! The funky future-type (believable) doo dads are an excellent by product thrown into a gripping psychological thriller! Man oh man! I loved that BIG screen, hands on, simulator/computer! I want me one of those! I’d even take the clear view desk top model! And what about that box of cereal - ha!! I give this movie a 10! ;D

Not only is it an incredible movie, but...like Equilibrium, was pulled from theaters 2 weeks after it's release, even though it was selling.
Seems like these type of movies scare TPTB. Either they are using the plot lines, since they have ZERO imagination, or like good science fiction, PREVENT the future, by warning us of the possibilities.
Reminds me of "JFK" movie that was panned by critics, before the movie was even shown in pre-release.

I was wondering why I never heard much about the Minority Report until the other day when I was scanning through my On Demand movie selections. The plots in both movies is absolutely running parallel to what I see happening in the world around me! Just look at the population in Equilibrium - talk about dumbed down people! That movie was 10 times better than the Matrix (and I LIKE the Matrix!). Which JFK movie are you talking about - the one with Kevin Costner? I never saw that one. That man can't act and ruins every movie (sorry - that's my opinion) so I don't watch anything he's in. I've tried!

I've tried! Yeah, it's the one with Costner, but he does a good job in this one. Definitely see JFK, and just see why the Warren Commish apologists panned the movie. they made this big stink over one scene where Donald Sutherland is in. It didn't exactly happen in the way depicted in the movie, but similar, and they attacked EVERY THING about the movie. It's like Howard Dean's rebel Yell. One thing that a candidate does, and he is insane, whether or not it is, doesn't matter. BTW, the soundtrack to JFK alone is worth the price of admission, by John Williams.
