Hi everyone! When I was in Baghdad last year, I sent an e-mail off to one of my favorite comic book artist by the name of Barry Windsor Smith. (BWS) He was the artist to do the original Conan the Barbarian books that are valued around $250 - $300 a piece. I told him I was in Iraq and that I loved his work. To my suprise he wrote me back and told me he would send me a picture! I couldn't believe it! I just got the picture a month ago and it inspired me to draw a picture for him. I'll post the picture BWS sent me later in this thread but for now I'd like to share the one I drew for him - I was suprised how well it came along. I mean for the past 3 1/2 years while being in the Army I did't draw anything worth mention, then virtually overnight I whipped this sucker out! I hope you enjoy and I get BWS's picture up soon! Later!

Really great graphics. We all don't give ourselves enough credit for our artwork and music. It is not easy to get noticed.
It was very nice of your friend to send his work. excellant.
Let's all keep up the good work.

This was a design I created back in 2000 for a tattoo I wanted (never got it).

Here is an image I made in high school. It is inspired by this girl that would never talk to anyone and when I tried speaking with her, she was very drepressive and sad. Combineing her attitude and my inner feminine side (at that time) I created this picture. It's not pretty but it says a lot without saying a thing:

I like your pen & ink style, Bhang, it reminds me somewhat of my own pen & ink drawings... although my artwork is of trains, subways, busses, and nature scenes... in the New York City area and New England... somewhat different subject matter from what you're doing, but the same style, at least the pen & ink part of it is. Of late, I've been adding color to the drawings. If I can ever figure out how to work this f#+%@+*%!!! scanner of mine, perhaps I'll be able to share some of my stuff here. I've gradually styled it after the late, great 19th century artist/illustrator/engraver, Benson Lossing. Here's some of his engravings from his excellent book, "The Hudson River, From the Wilderness to the Sea". Back in the mid-1800's, he and his wife walked from Lake Tear of the Clouds, deep in the Adirondack Wilderness, down along the upper Hudson River Valley to Albany, and thence onward to New York City. The journey back then took several months, and this book, of which I have a copy, is a result of that expedition. There are several hundred of his illustrations here on what the Hudson Valley looked like back then... www.ossining.org/highbdw3.htm www.nypl.org/research/hudson/collections/prints/prints10.html
