POLITICS: ‘Loose Change’ Close to Treasonous
The Kitsap Sun recently carried an announcement that the Kitsap Unitarian Universal Fellowship would show a film called “Loose Change” at their building on Perry Avenue.
The film claims that Sept. 11, 2001, attack on the World Trade Centers, the Pentagon, and the crash of a passenger plane in a Pennsylvania meadow … are NOT the result of terrorists, but rather a cleverly executed conspiracy by our own government people.
Ordinarily, I would not dignify such an announcement with a comment, but the level of preposterousness keeps urging me to do so.
Obviously, such a film is a sham, to influence politics and to bring shame upon our country. I feel the authors and the KUUF should be judged close to treasonous.
Similarly, a story was promulgated at the start of World War II that President Franklin Roosevelt started a war with Japan so as to boost us out of the Depression. Both cases are at a level of ignorance beyond description.
We need organizations that have a higher regard for USA.

The US Constitution still provides for freedom of speech. You can criticize the movie or the decision of the church to permit showing it, but it is not even close to treason.

I've got a great idea! How about going to the showing and listen to the questions raised by the film???
There are a variety of films out questioning the events of 9/11 and offering answers. The answers differ but, for the most part, the questions are the same. So, go and see the film and listen carefully to the questions.
Remember, the questions are there because the official conspiracy not only doesn't provide answers but also ignores them.

The movie recycles tin-foil conspiracy arguments that have been thoroughly rebutted, but fails to give air to the responses to the now debunked claims that our government was involved. Yet this movie will be picked up by foreign countries and terrorist groups, aired by Al Jazerra, referenced in many foreign media as proof that the U.S. caused the 9/11 WTC collapse. Yes - this is aid and comfort to our enemies. Yes, this is definitedly close to treason, as stated by Owen.
Read Ownen's letter - no where did he suggest that legal action be taken. But he was correct in drawing attention to this shameful exercise of free speech. Yes, someone can stand on a corner and make hate-filled statements. Airing this movie is the same. During WWII, if someone took the German's side, they would be called Nazi sympathizers. Those airing this film actually support and encourage the spread of terrorism. They support the repression of women and other religions in the Middle East. They support the concept of jihad and the spread of Islam through out the world by force. They support all these things because the shameful film, filled with lies, acts to undercut the war on terrorism by suggesting that the US is at fault, and not 19 Islamic terrorists, acting for the hatefilled Al Quaeda organization that seeks to defeat the U.S. Those that support the film are "close to treasonous."
But no - I also don't think that any legal action should be taken. But I do think that this shameful exercise should be shown for the despicable act that it is, and how it aids and supports enemies of liberty throughout the world.

There are still conspiracy theorists who claim the U.S. never put a man on the moon, or the high altitude jet contrails are actually a secret government program to poison the public .... and there are others that are equally stupid. But the 9/11 WTC conspiracy theory is not only stupid - it gives aid and comfort to our enemy, and can be easily disproven. Read the book and avoid lying propaganda.

Your points are all valid.
But understand the film for what it is. That being a showcase of 1930's Joeseph Georbel's stylized propoganda. Where you plant the BIG LIE by cloaking it with little truths. There by leading the veiwer, if he or she is already leaning politically in that direction, to feel vindicated afterward.
The file does have actual facts in it, but it is propoganda because the film is based on a false premise.
Some parallel's would be like watching Oliver Stone's JFK. (Only this film has way less documentation to draw on but is still just as much a fantasy.)
Or watching the NBC LA Evening Newscast of the Rodney King beating.
It took others to point out that "the video clip" as played actually took place of 12+ minutes, if you watched the camera timer display. Not the 90 seconds that was shown on TV.
Also not shown in the clip was how R. King got himself up off the ground twice during that altercation or that he had taken a second TASER shot by the police and still continued to resist being arrested.
All of those facts should have been reported by that News stations TV anchor while giving that report. They weren't.
Which was why, when the jury saw the entire twenty minutes of the video tape shot that night. They found the officer's involved 'Not guilty".
And above all, be wary of people who get (or think that this vindicates) their points of views from these types of movies or shows.
Their narrow mindedness is frightening.

A Google search of '9/11 Truth' results in 14,000,000 pages. A Google search of '9/11 Eyewitness' results in about 850,000 pages. The '9/11Eyewitness' video presents ample proof that at the least, the U.S. helped carry out the tragic events of that day. People from all around the globe, and high up in our government are demanding another investigation.
One of the many unexplained events of that day are the pools of molten iron found in the basements of WTC #1,2,& 7 The Kean commission had no explanation as to how WTC # 7 collapsed that same day. Building # 7 somehow doesn't get any attention.
Just because mainstream media doesn't mention the 9/11 truth movement, does not mean it's not there. I urge you to open your mind a little, do some research, talk to others about it. The truth is out there.
If you question the 9/11 commission's findings, does that make you a traitor? The majority of families that lost loved ones are also urging for an independent investigation.
Dick Cheney changed the protocol for scrambling NORAD air defense just before 9/11. He had to personally give the orders.

I can tell you that policy changes concerning the use of CAP over the US were made in 1996. Mainly as a cost cutting effort, in order to comply with White House directives and the BRAC Commission report recommendations of the previous year.
Those squadrons were disbanded, personnel re-assigned or allowed to retire and their planes put in to mothballs or to be sold for scrap.

I have read many many articles alleging the US involvement, and many of the "technical articles" have been easily refuted. As an engineer myselft, I can follow the technical discussions - and it is noteworthy that no reputable Civil or Structural Engineer (and I would define reputable as having a degree and a Professional Engineers license in the disciple) has agreed with the "findings" that claim that the WTC towers didn't collapse because of the 2 planes impacting the towers. I have reviewed many sites - both supporting the conspiracy, and those that have been very successful at de-bunking the conspiracy allegations.
Yes, there are plenty of pages on the web . . . but accepting these fringe groups as being more reputable than the 9/11 commission doesn't make someone a traitor - just of dubious sanity.
The conspiracy theorists are basically suffering from a "Bush Derangement Syndrome" ... where their hatred of the President is so severe, that they would rather assume the worst about our President than to give him credit that the terrorist threat to our nation is extreme, and we must act, or our nation will suffer more attacks, and even more damaging attacks. BDS sufferers are also prone to beliefs that elections where Republicans win were stolen elections and no mandate for the Republicans, but elections where the Democrats win a small majority are actually major mandates for the Democrats.
Read the Popular Science article, and the book I mentioned in an earlier post ... then try to refute the points that are made there.

The bottom line is the "truth movement " is based on a belief system that the United States Leadership is so despictable , also most of our leaders in the past , that we are worse then the enemies we are fighting .
If you belief that , then this debate is just useless. Your mind in made up , and the facts do not support your case .. So this movement just lingers on the fringe , where you my friend are hanging out .

Simple facts: we are country of ill-informed citizens prone to tabloid stupidity. One quarter of the population believes we never landed on the moon (must be the recursor to the 9/11 conspiracy). Citizens panic over 2,800 deaths in Iraq over 4 years when in WWII General Douglas MacArthur routinely led amphibious assaults against Japanese defended island with 280,000 troops and 1,000 ships with deaths on the hardened island in the ten of thousands a month.
Our citizens turn of Oprah, Dan Rather (RIP), Cattie, CNN, BUZZ, and BBC for predigested information with no intellectual value. We have young people turning to the John Stewart Show for the bulk of the world news. We also have local Bainbridge School Districts engaging in propganda civics programs maligning USA, FDR and our current Commander in Chief creating the next generation of conspiracy adherents.
The fact people hold to 9/11 theories, alien abductions, Jewish world-domination conspiracies and other pop neurosis should be of no great surprise. Frankly this nonesense does not bode well for a country that needs thinking engineers, inventors, entrepaneurs and brave warriors to keep the USA as the world's sole super power and economic engine for the world.
Perhaps the aliens planted the explosives !!

POINT OF CLARIFICATION ON ACCUSATION AGAINST "ALIENS":
In my post above, I suggested the cause of the explosion at World Trade Center and the American Airlines planes were" "Perhaps the aliens planted the explosives !!"

The fact people hold to 9/11 theories, alien abductions, Jewish world-domination conspiracies and other pop neurosis should be of no great surprise. Frankly this nonesense does not bode well for a country that needs thinking engineers, inventors, entrepaneurs and brave warriors to keep the USA as the world's sole super power and economic engine for the world.
Perhaps the aliens planted the explosives !!

POINT OF CLARIFICATION ON ACCUSATION AGAINST "ALIENS":

I am referring to otherworldly aliens and not the aliens from the parking lots of Home Depot. Sorry for the confusion about the influence of alien abductions on conspiratorialists.

Is it a lie, when Saddam was found to have Mustard gas weapons, buried 30 MIG 25 aircraft, had Sarin weapons, had 5 seperate non-Iraqi terrorist training camps and refused to let in UN inspectors?
All of these actions were in violation of UN Resolution 1441 and the terms of surrrender of 1991.
