www.crooksandliars.com/ Colbert shakes up Bill Kristol over PNAC ties
Bill Kristol, who is one of the major players in the group called PNAC, joined the set of the "Colbert Report," and I think was taken off guard right at the outset of the show because he had to answer questions that our media never asks. PNAC envisioned America attacking the Middle East since the middle '90's and for some inexplicable reason (that was a joke) the media never questions him or his members which have lined the walls of Bush's cabinet about PNAC and how it influenced our foreign policy, which led us to attack Iraq.
Colbert immediately called him on it and Kristol was quite embarrassed talking about it.

Did you see Colbert on C-span at the White house press dinner? I saw it on youtube.com Seems like it was almost unreal. But I talked to some people and they said they saw him on T.V He was bashing Bush so hard for like 20 min. And Dumbya was just sitting there with a pissed off look on his face. I'm wondering why they asked him to be on there in the first place, knowing that he would do that?

I'm wondering why they asked him to be on there in the first place, knowing that he would do that? I saw part of the event.. it was stunning. To answer your question why: 1) Let the critics release some steam, which let off some of the pressure on the administration. In the mean time he is not getting MSM attention, which means it won't effect public opinion much... the combination could be advantageous to them 2) It provides reason for those who support Bush to be more defensive 3) If something big happens soon (Chicago?) this will be completely forgotten, or used as a lithmus test to see who is allied and who is axis. 4) Colbert is a triple agent, working for those who pull this administrations strings, to remind them that they can make things difficult for Bush et al, if they don't play exactly by their rules. 5) They actually feel a touch of remorse for what they are doing, and are being masochistic. Any other thoughts?

Oh, this is good..LOL!! The crackpots think Colbert wasn't funny and he is one of the "Turists" www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-bloggers/1624363/postswww.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1624275/postsThese people thought that Pretzel was funny. This is not slapstick comedy, this is biting Sarcasm and Satire. Although the Helen Thomas scenes were very Stoogian or Marx Brothers like in nature. We were comparing it to "Dr Strangelove", and Lo and Behold, it is on Turner Classic Movies tonight. In that movie, there were moments of hilarity, but generally it was a very serious issue they were dealing with, dark humor if you will. Colbert was much the same. It is very serious having a wanna-be dictator in charge of the US Military. VERY Dangerous, and he is a very brave man to go out there and do that.
