The most misunderstood artist/entertainer/human being to inhabit the earth in recent times next to Howard Stern. A world introduced to a brutally honest individual and unable to handle it. A society so used to being told what they are comfortable hearing, rather than what they know is true. We all have a dark spot in our hearts, some more profound than others. This is not to say that you should be proud of it. But accept it as true, no one person encased in flesh exudes perfection. Marilyn Manson is the manifestation of all of our undesirable thoughts and feelings. It is a band that creates music that allows us to be angry and vent without guilt. Internalizing apathy leads to depression, self destruction and at worst, suicide. This is the intentional solitary confinement of the introvert gone bad. Not all of us including myself process emotion in the same manner as others. It can be be quite extreme and overwhelming at times. The music becomes a punching bag that never passes judgment. "There's a fine line between an artist and a serial killer". What many see as senseless anger and blasphemy is an absolute and beneficial release of pent up frustration. Some choose to punch a hole in the wall, go for a run or even scream!!!! Some choose to listen to a song that represents the pain in their hearts. Manson's appearance is not about shock, but the fascism of beauty. We all know how well an attractive person is treated in this world. We don't use ugly people to sell products. Manson's image is an attempt to desensitize the effect of what is commonly seen as being "ugly". "The shock is all in your head", remember that. It's a lesson, don't attack without thinking, just because you aren't familiar with it. Sometimes, the purest things are unlike anything you've ever seen. Different is not always bad ........

KNOWTHIS, I would have to agree with you. Art and beauty are in the eye of the beholder. Van Gogh was tormented, and not as peaceful as Monet. Who was more viable as an artist? They both were equally. What upsets people about MM is the fact that he takes on the hypocrisy of the Church. It's a brave thing to do these days. Try talking about Paganism, Athesim, or Hinduism to a Fundamentalist. You get nowhere fast. When I saw Toby Keith at a half-time show at some football game, the only thing i thought was, obscene. Big eagles floating down, flares going off, big breasted cheerleaders dancing, Flags everywhere and his out of tune voice. Shades of Nuremberg! History has always used Shock in art to get messages across. MM and his band are no Herbie Hancock or Emerson Lake and Palmer, but the concept is very important. I remember Rock and Roll in the mid-1950's, when shows were banned because parents thought it was "Un-Christian". Here's pictures of some Shock artists: Cab Calloway Arthur Brown The Nice with Keith Emerson Frank Zappa and The Mothers of Invention The Doors Jefferson Airplane Little Richard Alice Cooper KISS The Plasmatics The Tubes DEVO The Residents Noble Gas

KT,
I'm seeing all the pictures. Which one are you not seeing? The picture is under the name.
BTW, I was going to add Peaches and Iggy Pop, but I though their music was not up to the other groups standards. It's one thing grabbing crotches, cussin', and stabbing yourself, but another thing to play the crap out of your instrument.
we'll be adding a few more Noble Gas Live shots, as soon as I digitize them from video,

Try this: www.noble-gas.com/Johnnyspray.mp3It's a direct link to Johnny Spray I'm playing it OK on a PC and a Mac. Do you have cable or dial up? Mech has dial up, but a Mac. For PC, right click on the link, and save to disc. Try downloading Quicktime from Apple for Windows www.apple.com/quicktime/download/standalone/QT is more robust than WMP. also, here's the link to our latest CD www.noble-gas.com/current.htmWorse case, you'll have to wait until March to buy it at Amazon or CDnow, unless you trust me with a PO box, and I'll sent free CD's (good publicity) Send me a PM if so.

Finally, I've heard Johnny Spray, I love it!!!! The Nine Inch Nails type synthesizing is fantastic. The bass line is so catchy. And the unexpected break off into the "johnny don't believe that stuff" chorus is wonderfully ironic. It reminds me of the off the wall antics of Mr. Bungle. The lyrics couldn't be better in regards to contrails. And all of the sampling of news reports and mr. Bush, "god bless america in the background"!!. I have just become your biggest fan. I'm burning this song onto a disk for my uncle to hear, he'll love it as well. I'll be anxiously awaiting the opportunity to buy your music online and eventually see you guys live if possible.

Hey KNOWTHIS,
Thanks, man! Just goes to show ya that a bunch of 50 - something's can still rock!
If you ever notice Jazz, some people are 90 years old, and people in their teens that love the genre, still respect the ones that have been at it a long time.
We'll still keep putting out video, graphics, and music as long as we can.
I was reading Wendy O Williams obit and life story the other day. She was singer and acrobat from The Plasmatics. She killed herself at 48 years old becuase she could not perceive herself going any further than she did, as far as outrageousness, blowing up cars, coming on stage naked, buzz-sawing huitars, S&M on stage, etc. She wrote a goodbye note that showed her brick wall as far as re-combining air molecules (writing music). Don't get me wrong, I liked WOW, but she went Soooooo over the top, she saw nothing else. Her live show made Marilyn Manson 's look like a Bingo Game. Believe me when I saw he was at the Limits. This is what happens to one-trick pony musicians. Britney Spears will go the route of Mariah Carey, Madonna had to French kiss another woman, Janet Jackson's boob, etc. In american Culture, you are a has-been at 30 years old. Strange, in other cultures, and other genre's. 40 or 50 is where you start gaining wisdom in art. With the USA's approach to Art, there will never be any wisdom anymore.
I see Marilyn Manson perhaps branching out into other things though. If you saw the picture of Arthur Brown from above, he was as outlandisn as Manson in his day. He kept evolving musically, AND he dealt with the same subject matter aas Manson. Today, at 64 years old, he still writes great stuff, and has been touring with Lene Lovich, in her mid-50's. The Europeans simply have better taste than Americans, and can accept older musicans and artists.

KNOWTHIS, Thanks for your enthusiasm. It really feels good to hear to say so. . Like the Three Stooges of the 40's. We like to take the satirical/absurd approach. What better way to expose these behind the scene manipulators, then humor? Johnny Spray represents the blind believer, a real over confident dope. 'No need to look up, everything is good.' Just believes the lies and goes on pushing the ideas like a bully, without realizing that they are the victims, too. The Legend of Johnny Spray Many shades of blue Are a backdrop to The white fluffy clouds That float by in the breeze Breathe in the air The scent is so sweet Birds are chirping in the trees As I tell you The Legend of Johnny Spray. Clouds that look too much like lines Crisscross to form a grid Air tankers flying back and forth Leaving behind their mark These are not contrails They last much too long They skywrite a story That disperses into haze Just before a storm Right before our eyes Johnny don’t believe that stuff. Ain’t seen no spraying, White trails, above. Now, Johnny’s Not that dumb. No need to look up Everything is good. Part of the experimentation Delivery of immunization A method of genocide. Sky shield for global warming Weather control to suit the need. Chemtrails equal biowarfare Aluminium, Barium, Pathogens Sprayed into the air By mutating Orbs HAARP is pulsing XYZ Johnny don't Worry none He's takin' his pill Into Zozac Land Now Johnny Knows the Truth Heard it from a Pilot Who spoke real good Johnny understands Ashcroft lost his pants Hydrogen Gas Yippie Yi Yo Yahoo’s are everywhere Watch those Solar Flares That’s right
