YELLOWSTONE NATIONAL PARK, Wyo. (AP) - Hundreds of rainbow and brown trout have died in the Firehole River in Yellowstone National Park.
Recent hot weather has boosted the river's temperature to as warm as 82 degrees. Yellowstone spokesman Al Nash says that temperatures above 73 can be stressful or fatal for trout.
Meanwhile, park officials have enacted voluntary fishing closures at several areas because of the stress that warm water places on fish.
