Hey has anyone ever heard of a cat humping like a dog,it has found a special something,(no not our legs) and it humps it. Now I know this is a ridiculous thread, but I seriously have never heard of this. These are the cats we rescued at 3 weeks from the road as they were dumped. Our little terrier dog was kind of their role model and I think they learned from him. The other of the 2 will bring a toy if you tell him and play catch or fetch. He brings it back every time and waits for you to throw it. So the only thing I can think is perhaps the humper learned this from the dog when he was alive? ? Any ideas or know how or what would maybe slow this ritual of his down? chicky

It's not that unusual. Our cat used to do that too. I think it's kind of like the male version of being in heat. Is he fixed? That may or may not help depending on how ingrained the habit has become. It's like when some people quite smoking, they still can't resist the habitual desire to hold something between their fingers, even a pencil. Habits can be harder to break than physical addictions. Animals have certain innate instincts that are hard to break.
