Then there's the recent rise in alligator attacks too. People are feeding them. Bad idea. The alligators over time lose their fear of humans and they also begin to associate them with food. A double whammy. There are many different reasons for why certain animals will react that way. A rabid animal for example may be more apt to attack. An animal that feels that it's young are threatened. The one that we all know, an animal feeling cornered and vulnerable might lash out. And in many cases people are infringing upon their territory and increasing the probability of an encounter. These are wild animals and they operate on instinct. they can be unpredictable.

Deer 2 ----- Human 0
I'm cheering for the deer in this case.

I saw that video on TV once. I've heard of this happening after a car accident involving a deer. The man got out to assess the damages and the deer (though to be dead) jumped up and chased him all the way around the vehicle as his wife who was still in the car watched and laughed. I can tell you one thing, most people don’t realize this but they are extremely powerful animals, particularly in the legs. I’ve seen deer scale what seemed to be like ten foot fences before at the park. Add adrenaline from fear to that and you’re dealing with amazing strength. They say that even a small monkey has more power than an average man. That’s why gorillas scare the shit our of me.

www.mattfurey.com/primate_power.htmlThe Most Powerful Animal on the PlanetThe real man inherently knows that there is no other animal in the wild that is stronger, pound for pound, than his cousins the apes and monkeys.
If a little monkey were to grab your finger and squeeze as hard as it could, you'd scream for mercy. Pound for pound, there's nothing more powerful on this earth than a primate.
There's a reason why those primates are so strong. Sure, evolution and adaptation - survival of the fittest - have created the perfect strength creature, but there's something else. From the moment a baby monkey is born, he is clinging with their hands and feet to his mother; he spends his entire lives developing the strength and agility needed for survival.
He is always handling his own bodyweight in difficult and awkward positions. You could say that the monkeys and apes are the original practitioners of bodyweight exercises. Isn't it only natural that we should want to return to these roots? The only way to get back to our real nature is to ape the apes, in other words by doing exercises that mimic what they do in their natural habitat.

I'll tell you what else amazed me and I wish that I could find a picture of it. This is off topic but on TV I saw this species of fish that can alter the pigmentation of it's like a chameleon to roughly match its surroundings in order to blend in for survival. I think it was a flounder that they showed? I can’t believe that I found the picture…. Check it out! It’s neat! The checkerboard one is the best. It's not perfect but pretty damn close. Not sure if you can tell from the photo but even the edges of the black and white boxes line up with the fish’s make-shift cloak. I couldn't get it to post so click here.

Seems to me there was a call into Coast to Coast from a guy who'd had a deer in his car that was tearing it up while he called the police from a payphone.
