It is always amazing to me how really tied together we actually are: Hi friends today I had to rescue 2 baby kittens probably only 3.50 weeks old, they were in the middle of the street cars just going around them.(One guy actually stopped to ask directions! No kidding) This assh...... I mean guy down the street feeds all these strays and then when it comes down to it he doesn't claim any responsibility for them,as in this case. "The mother wont feed them" he tells me and so thats that. I said so let me get this strqight because I want to be sure.....your an asshole? I told him I was going to turn him in because if in fact the cats are not his then perhaps he should call the pound although I know it is hard, but finding a squwished kittn I cannot fathom.Or if he does claim them then have them spade or neutered (I think they will even do it for free if he cant afford it) Well that was it I now am feeding 2 babies on bottles I will take them to a safe haven locally that does not put cats to sleep. That is the goal. Here though is our connection: I just started taking Bee Pollen and I had to look up a recipe for an emergency formula it stated that if at all possible add some Bee Pollen. I laughed out loud because if Mech had not posted that thread I would have never had any on hand and I know it is an important part of the recipe. THANKS!!!! O.K must go tend to my new babies that I will probably have a very hard time letting go of take care all chicky ;D

Excellent Chicky!!
One time Theta and I saw this baby goose abandoned in the middle of a highway island, unable to fly. This was in the morning. We came back at 6 PM, and goose was still there. Theta jumped out, and grabbed the goose, and we drove away in our van. We drove around until we found a flock, placed the baby a safe distance from the flock, and walked away. The baby then went waddling over to it's new family, and they took it in no problems as they all walked into the woods.

Yes Chicky, What a wonderful act of kindness. Good timing. I know what you mean about finding it hard to give up these friends once you've hand feed them. That is how we ended up with 12 of our cockatiels. We just couldn't give them away after feeding them one by one for a month or so. I'm glad you are going to give them to a place that won't put them to sleep. I don't understand how someone like the A**hole could sleep at night after leaving them in the road. No conscience.

Yes and my spoiled little 10 lb.male terrier suddenly thinks he is the mother, pretty cute but I think he may be annoying them a bit. man these babies are really funny and sweet, to his defense the guy came to my door today and said that he knows that I am home during the day and that he goes to work and doesn't know what is going on when he is away,he asked me if I could feed them and nurture them and possibly take them to the safe haven,he also brought some food for them etc.But still I don't understand why he doesn't have them fixed. He said the mom was gone and just didn't come back and I told him perhaps they were on their way to find her,a very sad situation all around and I am a sap. good fun though chicky

Wow, you really must have gotten to him. That's a good thing. Sometimes these situations happen and it can be a growing experience for everyone involved. I'm glad he feels a little responsible. I think in our area they have services that will take the animals and either neuter or spay them and then bring them back and into the neighborhood to live out their lives. That's better than killing them. That's funny your dog is feeling maternal all of a sudden. Who said dogs and cats can't get along?

We saw the cutest thing down at the Jersey shore last weekend. We were on the boardwalk and a baby kitten and a baby duck were playing together. As soon as we saw them they dashed under the boardwalk together. Best of friends. It's only as creatures get older do they realize that there is prejudice.
